Hair Transplant with FUE Method

Hair Transplant Methods

The follicles are then separated individually and placed into the open channels in the recipient area. This method has been completely replaced by FUE due to its development and advantages. The Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, based on the principle of extracting hair follicles individually, allows for the most efficient use of the donor area. This method has been used since 2004.

• 2000-3500 hair follicles can be extracted in each session.

• Multiple sessions may be applied depending on the size of the hair loss area.

• There is no numbness or scarring in the donor area. Since no skin strip is taken from the back of the head, recovery is much faster.

• The small holes left in the extracted area heal without leaving scars within a few days.

• If hair is to be added to the front hairline or if the hair is to be left very short, FUE yields superior results because the follicles extracted with needles ranging from 0.70 to 0.90 mm in diameter create a more natural appearance.

Who Can Perform the Surgery?

Although hair transplant is a simple procedure, it is a surgical intervention and must be performed in a medically appropriate environment by experienced plastic surgery specialists.

Post-Operation

Once the hair transplant procedure is completed, the patient can return home immediately. Hair should not be washed for 4 days. After this period, the transplanted and donor areas are washed, and this process is repeated daily for 10 days until the donor area heals, and the recipient area no longer has crusts. Hair transplant procedures do not limit daily activities. The patient can return to work by wearing a loose hat to avoid touching the transplanted area.

How the Operation is Performed

Hair transplantation is performed under local anesthesia and is easily tolerated by patients. Before the procedure, the areas for the transplant are marked. It is essential that the transplant follows the natural hairline to avoid creating an unnatural appearance. After the area is prepared and numbed with injections, follicular units are extracted one by one from the back and side regions of the scalp. Special micro-surgical instruments with diameters of 0.70 to 0.90 mm are used for the extraction process. Once the follicles are collected, the recipient area is numbed, and channels are opened with a fine scalpel to place the grafts (hair follicles) one by one.
